Process

What happens before work begins.

VCS reviews the site, concrete, intended use, access, and schedule before confirming the scope.

Before the work starts

A finish cannot hide every problem in a slab.

Cracks, moisture, contamination, old coatings, drainage, and uneven concrete can change the work required. Early photos and a clear description help identify those issues. Larger or more complicated jobs may need an on-site assessment.

Process

From enquiry to finished surface

The exact sequence varies by service, but most VCS jobs follow these stages.

  1. Send the details

Provide the address, surface type, approximate dimensions, desired work, schedule, and clear photos or drawings.

  2. Initial review

VCS checks the information and asks about access, use, damage, existing finishes, moisture, or other conditions that could affect the scope.

  3. Site assessment when required

Some slabs need to be seen in person before preparation, repairs, materials, and timing can be confirmed.

  4. Scope and estimate

The estimate sets out the agreed preparation and surface work, along with relevant scheduling or access requirements.

  5. Scheduling

VCS confirms dates, site readiness, access, ventilation where applicable, and how long the area must remain out of use.

  6. Surface work

The crew completes setup, preparation, repairs within scope, installation or finishing, and cleanup.

  7. Care information

After the work, VCS provides applicable cure, cleaning, protection, or maintenance instructions.

Commercial sites

Coordinate access before the crew arrives.

Business hours, customer and tenant access, other trades, deliveries, and return-to-use timing should be identified before scheduling.

Industrial sites

Document operating conditions.

Equipment, vehicle routes, cleaning methods, contaminants, shut-down windows, and safety procedures help define preparation and scheduling.

Homes and garages

Plan for access and cure time.

Homeowners should know when vehicles, furniture, pets, and foot traffic can return to the area. VCS will provide timing for the material or finish used.

Next Step

Start with photos and measurements

Include the location, current condition, desired work, and schedule in the estimate form.
